Well formatted edition

This edition has a hyperlinked table of contents to the beginning of each chapter. The beginning of each chapter also has a set of hyperlinks to sections within the chapter. Even the footnotes are hyperlinked. The layout of the text is very nice; even the Greek characters look good.

History of the Christian Church Volume II: Ante-Nicene Christianity. A.D. 100-325

The first thing that excited me was the Title. I am very much into anything involving the origins of Christianity and how this faith began. In fact, I am so impressed with Philip Schafts' informational and descriptive presentation that I decided to get EVERY one of this series. The first thing that will become apparent (and somewhat intimidating) is the size of this tome. In the entire series, I think there are approximately 12,500 or more pages of written information. The reading is generally easy for those who have experience with the logic of that era. And, while Schaft's writing is not difficult on one's intellect, it can drift off at times (but then some parts of history are always boring). If you are interested in the origins of Christianity, this is the Holy Grail. I would recommend getting the entire package...it covers the range of 100 (maybe a few years before) through to the 1800s. Excellent material for small group Bible Classes.
